Iftah Ya Simsim wins award in the 18th Arab Radio and TV Festival in Tunis

The 18th Arab Radio and TV Festival awards Iftah Ya Simsim second place in the children’s television program category

Abu Dhabi, 30 April 2017: Iftah Ya Simsim, the Arab world’s pioneering television series that targets the educational needs of children aged 4 to 6, wins second prize in the regionally renowned and esteemed Arab Radio and TV Festival held in Hammamat, Tunis. This is the 18th edition of the festival and hundreds of programs were submitted to a judging panel of media and cultural experts that viewed and evaluated television and radio programs throughout Middle East. The Arab Radio and TV Festival is organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union and is held annually.

The Iftah Ya Simsim episode on “Back to School” was submitted to the category of parallel competition for TV programs – children’s section. The episode was enjoyed by millions of children throughout the region on TV and YouTube. Iftah Ya Simsim is now preparing 52 episodes for Season 2 with new, exciting, and educationally stimulating Arabic content that will soon be available on many television stations throughout the GCC and Middle East. A special series of 30 episodes of Iftah Ya Simsim has been created for the holy month of Ramadan and will be aired on regional TV stations on a daily basis. Iftah Ya Simsim is a locally produced Arabic language and learning program that reflects the amazing talents within the GCC and MENA.
