Iftah Ya Simsim launches special 30-episode series to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan

• 30 new episodes of Iftah Ya Simsim to air during Ramadan
• Series to use Iftah Ya Simsim Muppets to support children in becoming smarter, stronger and kinder
• Special “Dream, Save, Do” segments to include messaging on financial empowerment

Abu Dhabi, 13 April 2017: The Holy Month of Ramadan provides the opportunity for self-improvement, promoting positive values and ways to inspire others. In the spirit of the Holy Month of Ramadan, Bidaya Media, the children’s education content development company, in partnership with Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization behind Sesame Street, together announce a special Iftah Ya Simsim Ramadan series. The series consists of 30 episodes with a run time of 12 minutes, aims to educate children about financial empowerment in a fun and entertaining manner.
Designed to promote creativity and problem-solving abilities, each episode of the series will feature a dedicated ‘Dream Save Do’ segment, part of a larger initiative in collaboration with Sesame Workshop and MetLife Foundation, to be rolled out in the Middle East this year. These segments encourage three core elements of financial empowerment: the importance of planning and setting goals, self-discipline, and sharing resources.
Lovable Muppets from the series such as No’man, Shams, Kaaki, Gargur, Elmo and Melsoon tackle real-life problems with positive solutions, encouraging children to become problem solvers along the way. This is aimed to help children understand how to make choices to reach a larger goal, and offer age-appropriate tips around making a responsible choice between what they want and what they need.

The series is set to run on multiple television channels across the GCC and the rest of the MENA region, and few segments will also be available to view on the Iftah Ya Simsim YouTube channel.
