Responsibilities :

We are looking for a senior art director with strong design and a commercial, advertising or licensing background, to join the commercial team at Bidaya Media.
They will report directly to the Commercial Director, and will be needed to do the following:

• Execute quick internal design needs the commercial team may have
• Supervise commercial design projects which the commercial team has outsourced
• Review and approve designs, artwork, photography, and graphics by third parties as needed for commercial needs
• Coordinate activities with other artistic or creative departments in or outside the company
• Be able to use existing assets and create new design assets to prepare presentations, mock-ups etc.
• Determine how best to represent a concept visually
• Determine the overall look or style of style guide themes
• Create mood boards to brief third parties
• Be able to present ideas coherently and visually internally and/or externally
• Would ideally have commercial sensibility and understanding
• Would be able to talk to clients and licensees to determine the most suitable artistic approach and style for them
• Responsible for giving creative direction and approvals to all our licensees
• Responsible for our IP’s brand assurance (ensuring work is on brand, and at necessary quality)
• Responsible for giving feedback on digital movies, assets and artwork created for YouTube
• Responsible for creatively directing third parties working on graphic posts and new content for our Social Media platforms
• Develop budgets and timelines for commercial art and design projects as needed
• Should be hard working, be able to think outside the box and be a good team player
• Should demonstrate responsibility and be able to take initiative

Qualification :

• This is a full-time position
• Ideally this person would be in the UAE and either live in AD or be able to commute to the office as needed so we can be together as a commercial team in person when at the office
• Arabic is a plus but not essential

Responsibilities :

• Assess challenges to productivity and present solutions to solve the issues.

• Ensure that department deadlines tie into the master schedule.
• Oversee the staffing profile to ensure that staffing needs are clearly communicated and ensure all is in place for
incoming and outgoing artists.

• Ensures communication from the studio and show leadership make it to the floor as well as information from the
floor being communicated up.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Scheduling

• Manage the overall show schedule, track the man weeks and coordinate the day-to-day workflow, including consumer
products work during post-production. Approve and manage overtime in the departments.
• Help to establish the org chart, division of duties and approval and production pipeline. Ensure proper
staffing in all departments.
• Work with the individual Department Heads and Production Staff, in conjunction with the Head of CG on the
schedule and planning of their departments. Ensure quotas are met and troubleshoot issues that prevent
departments from hitting quotas.
• Strategize creative solutions to production challenges to ensure a steady flow of inventory.
• Determine current and future personnel needs based on input from Production Staff. This includes overall crew
size and start/finish dates. Flag potential problems in any of these areas.
• Maintain overview of utilization using established production management and tracking systems or creating new
ones when there is a need.

Managerial

• Be responsible for the information in the weekly Production Report; including knowing what the information means,
gaps that require discussion and trends that appear.
• Advise Producers and Director of any potential problems or issues, particularly those impacting budget, offering
solutions when possible.
• Manage the department heads and production staff.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to department heads and production staff.
• Hold check-ins with the department heads and production staff on a regular basis to discuss challenges,
acknowledge successes and discuss morale issues.
• Delegate and empower the department heads to take control of their department(s) and the impact of those
department(s) on other departments in the pipeline
• Ensure that department heads are setting goals with their teams. Follow up throughout the year and ensure heads
are providing feedback against progress.
• Run weekly production meetings (and other departmental weekly meetings as needed) to ensure clear communication,
dissemination of information, acknowledge accomplishments, and to discuss challenges and morale issues.
• Responsible for initiatives to develop and maintain crew morale.
• Work with Production Staff in anticipation of show-specific training needs.
• Responsible for the proper introduction of Google Docs and/or other appropriate scheduling tools to the crew.
• Work collaboratively to define and communicate ongoing recruitment requirements.
• Work with the Department Heads and Production Staff on the creation of the Post-Mortem and wrap book materials.

Tone and Culture

• Ensure that the show culture is one of timely feedback, including positive and developmental.
• Foster an environment of collaboration as opposed to one of blame.
• Foster an environment where mistakes are an opportunity for growth.
• Be fair and neutral in conflict management issues.
• Manage expectations around the schedule and creative goals so the crew is not surprised.
• Inspire and support the crew on a daily basis to get the show done.

Qualification :

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential.
• Must be able to work well within a team environment, encouraging and fostering a healthy atmosphere in a pressured
environment, setting achievable goals and supporting the team to hit any goals or deadlines that are set out before
them.
• A good working knowledge of the Harmony animation pipeline is not necessary but would be a distinct advantage when
applying.
• The successful candidate will be an organised leader who can clearly assess current status, project future
performance and drive a final result.

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The Lead Editor is responsible for setting up the department and building an editorial team. They will work closely with the directors and story team to bring the show to life.

Responsibilities :

• Work with the directors and story team, editing the film from animatic to final
• Oversee the cutting of the picture, including temp sound for the series
• Creatively contribute to the story telling process from an editorial perspective
• Main point of contact for all departments feeding the editorial dept.
• Liaise with sound studios and post production facilities.
• Build the editorial department from scratch, including your team, and organizing the workflow
• Work with Pipeline to develop support tools for the department
• Working with production to meet deadlines and to set milestone targets
• Establish best practices for the department
• Maintain strong team dynamics
• Attend all screenings and previews; work with directors and production to incorporate changes resulting from
feedback

Qualification :

• Minimum 5 + years of working as an editor in feature films or high-end TV series
• Must have excellent working knowledge of industry standard edit software (Avid)
• Good oral and written English language communication skills
• Arabic language a distinct advantage

Responsibilities :

• Programs create and debug various animation pipeline processes using different various language
• Create scripts and code to aid artists in Adobe software, Toon Boom Harmony, Harmony Control Centre, Maya, Editorial Software.
• Liaising with the Head of CG to identify production issues and expand the scope of new and existing scripts
• Under guidance from the Head of CG ensure the most efficient collaborative use of the 2D platforms (TBH, AFX, Photoshop, etc…) in conjunction with the tracking system (Shotgun)
• Work to improve the platform to user requirements and where needed create code and tackle the issues. Verify and test functionality and feedback user comments (refine development if needed)
• You will be required to develop your own knowledge, skills, and techniques in relation to TBH, AFX and Photoshop, and any other 2D Platforms that may be adopted in house.
• Provide regular updates, reports, and/or reviews to the Head of CG as required
• Liaise with the Art Department to develop and maintain validation procedures and protocols between departments and prop naming convention and folder structure
• Ensure proper, the optimized function of the software’s deployed, troubleshoot and fix any glitches that occur, and liaise with appropriate software support staff to ensure the fastest fix to any problem.
• Provide training documentation for any new scripts, tools, or processes produced
• Ensure you remain current and up to date on the latest software versions and ensure you have all the latest information concerning relevant software programs

Qualification :

• You will have a clear understanding of an animation pipeline which will allow you to support the overall needs of the production pipeline and toolsets.

Responsibilities :

• The Props Designer will work to a brief provided by the Art Director.
• They will report to the Director and take feedback/notes from the Director as required.
• The brief will be provided on a per-episode basis and will comprise both the content necessary to be designed and also a reasonable time allowance to complete the work.
• Any difficulties in understanding the requirements of the brief must be reported as soon as possible and all work must be submitted to Shotgun for approval from the show’s director.
• Amendments or revisions may be required which will be factored into subsequent work briefings.
• The Prop Designer is responsible for ensuring all naming conventions are followed and proper file management is followed.

• You must have excellent drawing skills with a great sense of colour, design, perspective, staging, camera placement and composition
• Strong communication skills
• A good working knowledge of Toonboom Harmony is necessary

Responsibilities :

• Read and develop a full understanding of the script in order to develop the storyboard objectives.
